National Hunger and Homelessness Week is November 15-21. On Thanksgiving Sunday, November 22, when we especially count our blessings, we will receive donations for our congregation’s food pantry. We’ve all read newspaper articles about how the “cupboard is bare” at local food banks, so if we receive more than we can store on our shelves, we’ll share with other ministries.
Urgently needed are: canned meats, vegetables, fruits, soups; dry cereals, pasta, rice, instant potatoes; peanut butter, preserves Just try to think of what you would like to have available for your family and share those items with others. And remember that many of the folks who need assistance have small children in the family (think “fun” breakfast cereal and macaroni shapes!)
